About

I am a video producer and director who specialises in bringing art and artists closer to the public.

My work can be seen in galleries, on websites and on television. In 2011 and 2012 I directed Tate’s Turner Prize artist films. I also produced and directed ‘Artists on the Underground’, a film exploring 16 contemporary artists’ approaches to designing covers for London’s iconic pocket tube map. Other notable projects in 2012 included a behind the scenes look at Tracey Emin’s homecoming exhibition at Turner Contemporary (for The Space); a film about the art collection at 10 Downing Street; and documenting the making of Jeremy Deller’s ‘Sacrilege’ – a lifesized bouncy version of Stonehenge that was one of the centrepieces of the London 2012 Festival.

Big projects in 2013 included films documenting ‘Labyrinth’, the major new commission for London Underground by Mark Wallinger, and a documentary on Michael Landy’s residency at the National Gallery.

In 2014 I produced a series of films for the Art Gallery of Ontario’s AIMIA-AGO Photography Prize. Also in Toronto, a selection of my films were screened at Canadian Arts’ Reel Artists Film Festival. And I collaborated with Jeremy Deller on one of his films marking the commemoration of the First World War.

In 2015, as well as videos for Tate, the Crafts Council, Lisson Gallery, Spike Island, the Government Art Collection and The Guardian, I worked with the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney, on a suite of films for their Grayson Perry retrospective. I also began work on a film following George Shaw – the National Gallery’s latest Associate Artist.

In the last few years I have interviewed some of the world’s most prominent artists, including Jeff Koons, Damien Hirst, David Hockney, Barbara Kruger, Marina Abramovic, Cornelia Parker, Gilbert & George, Martin Creed and many more.

My flexible approach to film-making allows me to produce content ranging from short artist interviews and promos, to full-length documentaries and event documentation. I work with a crew of highly skilled camera and sound operators, directors and editors, who work under my guidance to produce films that are sensitive to the needs of artists, arts organisations and, most importantly, their audiences.
